Nurture your movement journey: A gradual guide with a jump rope twist

Embrace each stage, from early touch to jumping rope, with mindful progress.

Embarking on your movement journey requires a mindful approach, starting with simple yet crucial steps. Find a clean space and lie down with your hand up, creating a barrier that prevents unwanted touch. Gradually, over 10 seconds every five days, build comfort in this position. Face down in a clean space is the next step, setting the foundation for a journey that evolves over weeks and months. After 4–6 weeks, allow yourself to be touched and, if needed, request it. By the 6th week, embrace the experience.

At the 9-month mark, ensure your caregivers respect your boundaries without being intrusive. Progressing to 15 months, engage in touching and being touched, fostering sensory exploration. After 18 months, give yourself the freedom to be pulled, put down, and picked up, building trust and coordination. As the months pass, request and receive help from caregivers, treating it like a holiday for your body. After 17 months, take your first steps toward walking, knowing that with time, you'll get there. At 18 months, attempt to stand and explore the world from a different perspective.
